Editorial and Advertising Photographer based in the middle of England. In all of my work I find myself deconstructing nature, whether its a landscape or a flower, or even food. I then reconstruct these natural things to create my own world, in which things exist in a way that they do not in nature. I think this spells from a boyish need to take everything apart and put it back together again, plus a great love of science and the natural world. I use a variety of techniques to create my images, ranging from digital photography to using a modified Flat-bed scanner to digitally capture things. Using a scanner gives an effect that cannot be replicated with photography, a kind of ethereal quality with a huge amount of detail. These 'scans' are then used to create images in their own right or incorporated with digital photography into a kind of 'Digital Collage'. All ideas are welcome, so please get in touch. Matt.
